GRID TIED SOLAR ELECTRIC (PV)
You can now legally in NY spin your utility's meter backwards (like selling power to your utility at the same retail rate per kw-hr you pay them. During time of excess solar production with a "Grid tied" solar PV system.
Financial Incentives
New York is via NYSERDA is currently offering an incentive program to help you go solar. For more information on this sizable discount off the installed total system price (Grid tie systems only)click here. (higher incentives may exist for differing situations. Contact us to find out more. Normally (without the incentives) the installed price is $4.80 to $7.00 per PV watt for residential installations, (this range can be wider for commercial or very small systems). These are PV array size watts as rated at Standard Test Conditions. It is not intended to be an indication of actual system performance. In addition NY has a 25% solar income tax credit for owners of grid tied PV systems installed at a primary residence. (NYS Tax Form IT255). There is also a 30% Federal income tax credit available if the system can be turned on by 12/31/2016.
Off Grid
In locations far from power lines we can provide you reliable power in "off grid" remote locations often less expensively than connecting to a utility and greatly reduce your dependence
